Today year 3 student councillors attended the Town Hall with our friends from Hedworthfield.
The children found out what qualities make a good leader, they then took part in a democratic election!
The children were amazing ambassadors for our school! Well done everyone
Our school council had the pleasure of working with Groudworks today. They discussed the importance of recycling and disposing of rubbish correctly, as littering can have a negative impact on wildlife and our environment. They then helped to clean up our local park and although they enjoyed the challenge and using the litter pickers, they were surprised at the amount of plastic, paper, metal and food waste they managed to collect.
Great work everyone!

The whole school joined together to celebrate achieving our Rainbow Flag Award with a special love yourself day!
This week we welcomed our grown ups into our French Cafe.
We loved practising our french vocabilarly.
At Valley View we are always promoting positive friendships and know that everyone in our school community is important and special. In order to celebrate all of the wonderful work we do everyday we were invited to attend the annual Friends Against Bullying (Fab) Awards. This event was organised by the Young People’s Parliament and celebrated the work of a small selection of schools in South Tyneside. Our school was awarded a main award in recognition of our ongoing work to encourage positive relationships. It filled us with pride to watch some of our fabulous Year 5 children stand up on stage and present to an unknown audience. They did an AMAZING job showcasing our wonderful work. As part of our presentation we shared all the inspiring work that was completed in anti-bullying week, this included installing a buddy bench.
Thank you so much to our adults who came to join us for our Reading Café today. It was lovely to share activities that you can do at home and spend time together reading!
We can’t wait for the next one already!
Another fantastic Reading Cafe this morning with lots of activities linked to reading you can do with your child at home. Thank you so much to everyone who came! We hope you found it useful and enjoy doing some of these activities at home!
The Choir from Valley View and Hedworthfield came together to sing festive songs to our friends at Calf Close residentiial home.
Well done everyone, you sang beautifully and demonstrated what great citizens you are!
