It was a great visit, our school council were amazing ambassadors for our schools.

Thank you so much to the Town Hall staff, Deputy Mayor and Councillors who made us feel so welcome.

Great Fire of London

29th March 2019C Henderson

Year 2 from Valley View and Hedworthfield and the Additional Resource Base 1 enjoyed a ‘Great Fire of London’ day. They baked bread in the Pudding Lane Bakery, build Tudor houses, drew London fire landscapes with pastels, sang songs, toasted marshmallows in our fire pit. They then watched as the Tudor houses were set alight to act out the burning city.

Year 2 Learning about The Bog Baby

11th March 2019C Henderson

Year 2 have been introduced to the book ‘The Bog Baby’.  They were involved in looking for clues to where he lives in out Forest School.  They were excited to discover: a blue web for him to catch his food, blue Bog Baby droppings and even a real Bog Baby.  They have used descriptive writing skills to write a description and are planning to write letters to our Head Teacher to persuade her to keep him as our class pet.  Y2 are great bakers and designed and baked Bog Baby biscuits using their maths skills to weigh ingredients.  This work is linking to our science topic of habitats.  Y2 oould recommend this story-they are Bog Baby experts!
