We are proud to announce that we are a CPD Champion School!
We made lovley community links with Calf Close residential home last year when pupils from our choir visited the residents to sing Christmas songs.
This year the children participated in the Hearts for Home project. Each child designed a heart with a personal message of kindness or Seasons greeting!
Today members of our school council, delivered the hearts to our friends and wished them a Happy Christmas!
Children from Valley View and Hedworthfield Primary Schools produced some stunning art work to commerate Remembrance Day 2020.
The art work was placed at the Cenotaph in Monkton Village.
We will remember them.
This half term, Year 3 has been studying the exciting topic of ‘The Stone Age’. We have been to Jarrow Hall and taken a trip back in time. Whilst we were there, we discovered what they ate, how they hunted animals and the sort of houses they would live in. We created our own Stone Age spears and aimed for our targets.
We support World Mental Health Day Saturday 10 October 2020.
Child Safety Week, 1st – 7th June 2020 – Safety Makes Sense
South Tyneside Safeguarding Children Partnership are pleased to inform you that we will be supporting Child Safety Week again this year.
This year Child Safety Week runs from 1st June until 7th June 2020 and looks very different due to the COVID 19 pandemic. None the less the messages of how to keep children safe from accidents remain the same. Our homes are accident hotspots for younger children which is a scary prospect at the best of times and sadly less traffic doesn’t mean we can completely switch off about road safety.
Throughout the week we will be sharing a range of top tips on how to keep children safe from accidents during lockdown (these can be found on our Twitter feed @STSafeguarding), as well as providing links to some excellent resources from the Child Accident Prevention Trust.
We would encourage you to share the links and resources across your own networks and have attached the 2020 family activity pack.
